Privacy Policy
This Privacy Policy explains what information Sentio (“Sentio,” “we,” “us”) collects when you use sentio.report and related services (the “Service”), how we use it, and the choices you have. Sentio is an informational market-sentiment tool — it is not investment advice and we never trade on your behalf or take custody of your money or accounts.
Information we collect
- Account information. When you sign up, our authentication provider collects your email address and, optionally, a name and username. We use this to create and secure your account.
- Usage data. The tickers you scan, your scan history, and your credit balance and ledger, so the Service works and we can show you your history.
- Payment information. Credit purchases are processed by our payments provider, which acts as Merchant of Record. We receive confirmation of a completed purchase but do not collect or store your card or banking details.
- Brokerage holdings (only if you connect one). If you use the Portfolio Scanner, you authorize a read-only connection to your brokerage through SnapTrade. We receive your positions — ticker symbols, quantities, cost basis, and last reported price — and store them as a refreshable snapshot to power your portfolio view.
- Technical data. Standard server logs and cookies needed to keep you signed in and to operate and secure the Service.
How brokerage connections work
We use SnapTrade to connect to your brokerage. This is important, so to be precise:
- You enter your brokerage login inside SnapTrade's hosted portal. Your brokerage credentials never touch Sentio's servers and we never see or store them.
- We request read-only access. We can read your holdings; we cannot place trades, move funds, or change your account.
- SnapTrade issues us a per-user access token (a “user secret”). We store it encrypted with AES-256-GCM, and use it only to refresh your holdings when you sync.
- You can disconnect at any time. When you do, we stop syncing and you can ask us to delete the stored snapshot.
How we use your information
- To provide the Service — run sentiment scans, show your history, and (if connected) display your portfolio view.
- To process credit purchases and maintain your balance.
- To secure your account, prevent abuse, and operate the Service reliably.
- To respond to your support, billing, and privacy requests.
When we generate a sentiment report, we send the relevant ticker symbol and public market context— not your identity — to our AI provider. We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use your holdings to advertise to you.
Service providers
We rely on a small number of trusted third-party providers to operate the Service — for authentication, payment processing, secure brokerage connectivity, AI analysis, hosting, and market data. Each may process limited data strictly on our behalf and under contract, and only as needed to deliver the Service. We do not sell your personal information.
Data retention and your choices
- We keep your account data while your account is active.
- You can disconnect a linked brokerage at any time from the Portfolio page.
- You can request a copy of your data or deletion of your account by emailing support@sentio.report. We'll honor verified requests as required by applicable law.
Security
We use encryption in transit, encrypt sensitive tokens at rest (AES-256-GCM), and limit access to your data. No method of transmission or storage is perfectly secure, but we work to protect your information and to minimize what we collect in the first place.
Children
The Service is not directed to anyone under 18, and we do not knowingly collect information from children.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. We'll revise the effective date above and, for material changes, take reasonable steps to let you know.
